šŸ’¬ Calling out Candace Owens, and why I'm offering Jasmine Crockett $50K

The Rubin Recap, Issue 39 ...

Candace is way off the deep end.

Calling out Candace Owens for profiting off crazy Charlie Kirk conspiracy theories

This is hard for me because I used to consider Candace a good friend. She’s been to my home many times, we’ve broken bread together on numerous occasions. In fact, way back in 2017, I introduced Candace to Charlie. True story.

We were at The Breakers in West Palm Beach, attending a David Horowitz Freedom Center event. We were standing in the lobby about 20 feet away from Charlie, and Candace said, ā€œI’d love to meet him.ā€

So I walked up to Charlie, introduced her, and the two of them hit it off right away. After they chatted for about 10 minutes, Candace came walking back to me and said, ā€œDave, I just got a job with Charlie at Turning Point USA.ā€

Had you told me then that this is where we would’ve ended up eight years later, there’s no way in the world I would’ve believed you. And in some way, I don’t even believe it right now. But here we are.

It’s been three months since Charlie Kirk was killed and this week Erika Kirk broke her silence on the crazy conspiracy theories Candace is spreading. Three months. And she’s out there on her late husband’s book tour responding to questions about people who said Charlie deserved to die the way he did. Check out what she had to say to Bari Weiss on that.

Erika is literally telling people that she and the folks at Turning Point didn’t murder Charlie. In an interview with Glenn Beck, a good friend of mine, she said, ā€œNone of us are involved in my husband's murder. Turning Point PUSA, myself, any of these other crazy accusations. None of us.ā€

It brings me no pleasure to have to do this, and, to some extent, I have avoided doing this. But I really can’t stay on the sidelines anymore. The absolute craziness that Candace Owens has been spouting about Charlie Kirk is cruel, twisted and narcissistic. She’s been trying to torch his legacy. People who are participating in this or running cover for it should be eternally shamed.

Meanwhile, Candace is racking up millions of views, literally profiting off this bile. I just don't understand how she can behave this way and sleep at night. I spent basically the entire first half of Thursday’s show addressing this, and also called out one person who has been conspicuously quiet on the Candace craziness. In fact, she also is someone I’ve considered a longtime friend, and her silence on this has been deafening.

More on that below, but also be sure to check out our sponsor for today. You might be making New Year’s resolution in a matter of a few weeks, and Native Path has a great product that could be key to starting the new year off right.

What THIS Solo Nutrient Does for Your Brain, Bones, & Heart Health

In one of the largest bone health studies ever, women who took calcium and vitamin D every day did not see a difference in bone health risks. Meanwhile, a recent study found that women who ate THIS protein for 6 months gained 7% more bone density… Which is how much density the average person loses in SIX YEARS!

Earlier this year, I had Megyn Kelly on the show, and we talked about the trickiness of balancing public friendships with staying true to our beliefs and how it can be uncomfortable to call out a friend when they start going batshit crazy.

I’ve considered Megyn a good friend for a long time —we each appeared on the other’s shows numerous times, we’ve hung out — but it seems like friendship is dissolving. She unfollowed me on X this week, hasn’t responded to any of my text messages.

You should watch this short clip from when Megyn was on the show back in the spring. It’s only about 10 seconds long. We talked about what the right thing to do is in these situations where you have a friend who goes completely off the deep end. At the time, I said, as uncomfortable as it may be, you have to call the friend out. And Megyn agreed. ā€œThe answer is: yes, you do,ā€ she said.

Since then, I have called out Tucker for some of his wacky shit. And now I’m calling out Candace. But Megyn has refused to do so, saying that Candace is a young mom of three young kids who’s under a lot of pressure. ā€œIt's my prerogative if I say to myself that is not someone I wish to attack,ā€ Megyn has said. And she’s right, it is.

But is the ā€œyoung motherā€ explanation really what’s behind this? Because Meghan Markle is a young mother, and Megyn goes after her all the time. Megyn may no longer consider me a friend, but I still think of her as a friend, and what I’m doing is like that old PSA from the early ā€˜90s some of you who are old enough may remember: Friends don’t let friends drive drunk. (Not sure how effective they were, but for those of you who remember them, some of those commercials were quite compelling.) So, that’s where I stand on all of that. A couple of other quick things I want to put an exclamation point on, in case you missed any of the show this week.

Democrats again this week kept harping on the second strike on the narco-terrorist boat that killed the two narco-terrorists who survived the first hit. They just won’t stop using it to go after Hegseth. And like many millions of voters in this country, I just don’t care about the dead narco-terrorists. They can put that on my tombstone someday: ā€œHe didn’t care about Venezuelan narco-terrorists.ā€ In fact, here — I just put it on my tombstone now (thank you, Grok).

Remember MAHA? I haven’t talked a lot about MAHA in the newsletter lately, so I wanted to mention the huge development with CDC vaccine advisers ending the long-standing recommendation that every baby born in America must receive the Hepatitis B vaccine at birth. Good stuff from RFK Jr. and company.

Now, that may seem like a small win, but these small wins will add up. How do you think we got to where we are today with the vaccines? The drug companies get small win after small win and, after a couple decades, it turns into enormous changes.

Check out the graphic here that I think illustrates this phenomenon, and shows what RFK Jr is trying to unwind. The image shows the change in the number of vaccine shots a baby born in 1986 was given in its first 12 months, vs what a baby born in 2025 gets. Jaw-dropping.

Hegseth wins Top Trump Peeps poll by a mile

The Democrats and the media put the full-court press on Hegseth last week because the U.S. has been taking out narco-terrorists in the Caribbean, and what do Rubin Recap readers have to say about it? Reader willlyrusso8 summed it up pretty succinctly:

Speaking of the libs, I thought it was a good time to take your temperature again on who the worst Democrat is right now. Last time I did this, a month ago, Moron Zamboni narrowly edged Newsom and Schumer. I have a feeling things have changed, given all that’s developed just in the last week or so.

Jasmine Crockett announced her run for U.S. Senate. Think about how crazy that is, given her documented history of racism. I offered her $50K this week to launch a career more befitting of her true talents, but I’m not holding my breath for her to take me up on it.

And you’ve got Ilhan Omar, who continued her Trump-bashing this week as her treasonous comments from 2022 resurfaced, causing new outrage. (Btw, we haven’t had a Trump rally in a while, but this week Trump went to Pennsylvania to do a rally, and he just lit up Ilhan Omar. I mean, you need to watch it if you didn’t see it.) And Gavin Newsom continued being Gavin Newsom.

Tough choice, people. Get your vote in ā¬‡ļø

• I paid a visit to The Erin Molan Show this week. In case you missed it, we talked about how the ineptitude of the mainstream media all but forced the rise of the alt media, Tucker and Candace, Bari Weiss taking over as the top editor at CBS News, and more. Here’s a quick highlight, and you can watch the entire conversation here.

• Be sure to watch Friday’s Rubin Report roundtable. Two of the most seasoned Rubin Report veterans — Gad Saad and Viva Frei — joined for a discussion that wound its way from Gad revealing the massive pop star who follows him on X to Candace Owens’ crazy conspiracy theories to Palantir CEO Alex Karp unloading some uncomfortable truths about racism against white people, all the way to Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. How’d we do that? Suffice it to say, it was quite a conversation.

• Copal is back on sale — get your order in now to ensure delivery before Christmas. Copal is the award-winning reposado and the official tequila of free speech — and now, as he told me via text message, the preferred tequila of Bill Maher.

• The Rubin Report merch store has the official Moron Zamboni T-shirt — and plenty of other great Rubin Report gear. Peruse it all right here.
