💬 Don Lemon gets squeezed, and Ana Navarro's 'perfect guy' fairy-tale completely collapses in the most dramatic way ever
The Rubin Recap, Issue 45 ...
Well, well, well … when life gives you Don Lemon, give Don Lemon some federal charges. A couple weeks ago, the former CNN host joined a bunch of anti-ICE protesters in storming a Minnesota church in the middle of a Sunday service. This will hopefully be some semblance of justice for the worshippers who were terrorized with a serving of Don Lemon that day. Meanwhile, Brian Stelter’s potato head must be exploding somewhere in the halls of CNN today. 😂
Don Lemon will try to hide behind the First Amendment and free press protections. No doubt. But this will be an interesting case to watch because the First Amendment also contains language that protects Americans from having their rights to the free exercise of religion infringed upon. And that actually appears in the First Amendment BEFORE the free speech part. Will be interesting to see how a judge interprets that — assuming a Biden-appointed or Obama-appointed judge isn’t assigned to the case.
Now, I know that you know that I know that you know you can’t trust these leftist clowns going on mainstream media cable news shows every night. They are not just buffoons who have no idea what they’re talking about, they are dishonest and don't care about reality. And they have the gall to straight-up act as propagandists who put ideology over truth. Can you guess who I’m alluding to here?
True, it could be a lot of people — but gold star for everyone who guessed Ana Navarro. If you watched any CNN this week — and hopefully you didn’t'; we at The Rubin Report watch it so you don’t have to — you saw Ana Navarro, world champion liar, create an absolute fairy tale about Alex Pretti, the man who was fatally shot in Minneapolis last week during an altercation with Border Patrol agents. She created this whole narrative about what an amazing person Alex Pretti was.
“This is like the perfect guy,” Navarro gushed on CNN. “Alex Pretti is the guy you want to date your daughter.”
Within about 24 hours, that whole preposterous narrative collapsed in the most dramatic way possible. Footage emerged of Alex Pretti attacking and spitting at ICE agents 11 days before he was shot. He is seen kicking out the the taillight of a federal vehicle, screaming at the agents that they should assault him. The guy looked completely unhinged, to put it lightly.
Right, Ana, exactly the type of guy you want your daughter bringing home. So, why does this happen? Because she knows nothing about the guy and all she cares about is trying to bring down the Trump agenda, the agenda that the majority of Americans voted for and that the president is now executing. It’s baffling that she’s not fired by CNN, a place that describes itself as a news organization when her so-called analysis falls apart so easily.
And it wasn’t just Navarro whose narrative was debunked. Same happened to Tim Walz, who called Pretti “the best of us.” Yes, the best of us go around spitting at people and vandalizing government property. And Elizabeth Warren who said he’s incapable — incapable! — of doing anything mean.
You need to watch this juxtaposition of their absurd remarks about Pretti over top of video of him looking like a lunatic attacking federal agents. And all of this happened after those absolute hacks at MSNBC used A.I. to doctor a photo of Alex Pretti to make him look more handsome. You cannot make this stuff up. Very reminiscent of what CNN did to a photo of Joe Rogan when they accused him of taking horse de-wormer during the pandemic.
I’m going to stick with my criticism of the media here because, well, it’s just such a target-rich environment. The absurdity was not just limited to cable news primetime. Jimmy Kimmel was fake crying again this week about the situation in Minnesota. Literal crocodile tears. I thought the purpose of these late-night shows was to give some comic relief. But that’s completely been abandoned. Then, Kimmel — like Ana Navarro, and Tim Walz and Elizabeth Warren — just lied about the people and what exactly happened.
What’s most interesting, though ,about Kimmel crying over Minnesota is what he’s not been moved to tears by in the past. Laken Riley, Jocelyn Nungaray, Rachel Morin, Kayla Hamilton, Kate Steinle, Mollie Tibbetts, Lizbeth Medina, Megan Bos, and others. These are all young women — some of them children, some of them mothers — all killed by illegals. Why has Jimmy Kimmel never fake cried for them?
And over on Colbert’s late-night show, which thankfully has only a few months left before it’s canceled, his crack staff of writers’ big joke was ‘F**ck ICE.’ That’s it. That was the punchline. Dozens of writers who are paid hundreds of thousands of dollars, came up with that. Naturally, the audience erupted in applause — because a sign hanging from above lit up and told them to do so.
Lastly, Ilhan Omar got squirted with vinegar at a town hall this week. Now, I’m not about to condone what happened, and the 55-year-old assailant has been charged, but the timing of the attack certainly was suspicious and many have said the incident looked stage.
Whether it was staged or not, it sure helped Ilhan change the subject — which before that was focused on the fake winery she and her husband own and have been reaping enormous profits from, even though they appear to not sell any actual wine. Benny Johnson got to the bottom of it all, you should check it out here if you haven’t done the deep dive yet.
In some sense, even crazier than the fake winery scandal is that Benny revealed Ilhan has been married three times. Three men looked at her and thought, '“Yeah, I’m into that.” And one of them was her brother 🤣
You’re only halfway through the newsletter. Don’t miss the sit-down interview of the week, which focuses on Ilhan Omar — the poll on Trump’s first year in office and more.
Ayaan Hirsi Ali on why Ilhan Omar is so dangerous
Is Minnesota representative Ilhan Omar just a clown who’s managed to fail upwards into Congress? Or is she a genuinely dangerous figure who’s trying to destroy America from the inside. The latter, Ayaan Hirsi Ali told me. Ali is also from Somalia and, as you likely know, she renounced Islam and converted to Christianity. In this conversation, she explains how the Somalian culture that Ilhan Omar has imported into the U.S. poses an existential threat not just to America but also to liberal democracy and Western values. Ever wonder why Ilhan Omar backed Jacob Frey — a white guy — over the Somali candidate in last year’s mayoral election? Ali explains that seeming paradox, too. Tremendously eye-opening conversation — has more than a million views on YouTube already. Check it below if you haven’t seen it yet.
🇺🇸 Trump is crushing it in first year of second term 🇺🇸

Can anyone say landslide? Ha, we know Trump can say it, but when I polled you guys last week on Trump’s first year back in office, what resulted was a bona fide landslide. A full 70% of of you who took part gave Trump five American flags on his first year. All told 91% of you gave him four or five flags.
I spend a lot of time on the show pointing out Trump’s wins, and you know where I stand on him and what he’s accomplished so far. It’s clear you’re able to shut out the noise from the mainstream media and see clearly what’s happening. Not only did many of you vote in last week’s poll, you guys flooded me with comments — so I’m highlighting a few of them this week.

Interesting remarks from reader aimeslee above. I included it because we’re going back to the Top Trump Peep’s poll this week. And Marco Cubio — a new little nickname I accidentally coined this week — has been dominating it lately and had a great showing on Capitol Hill this week where he explained the Trump administration’s reasoning behind the capture of Maduro and how it’s now overseeing the sale of oil in Venezuela. He had a great exchange with Rand Paul during the Senate hearing this week, it was actually a nice example of Paul taking a principled position, and Rubio calmly and coherently explaining the Trump administration’s strategy. I thought it made for the most interesting clip from the entire hearing. Will Rubio continue to dominate? Also, I would imagine border czar Tom Homan will climb in the power rankings this week. • I’m writing this newsletter to you from the Southern Hemisphere. More on that next week, but I did mention in the last couple newsletters why I’d be in El Salvador this weekend. Anyway, that meant we had to pre-tape Friday’s show, which is an interview with the incomparable Brigitte Gabriel. Brigitte escaped war-torn Lebanon and moved to the U.S., and is often warning about how the Muslim Brotherhood is infiltrating the political parties in the U.S. and trying to influence policy decisions. I’m telling you — ya gotta hear this stuff from people who know groups like the Muslim Brotherhood from the inside, and heed the red flags about the threat to Western Civilization that she is calling it. Watch here.
• One thing I love about the Community Q&A we do on Thursdays is that viewers often hit me up with questions that have nothing to do with politics. This week, Crafty Cat asked what I think are essential wardrobe items that every boy or man should own. For me, the most essential item is a few nice blazers. Meeting an old friend, business associate or just heading to the office? You gotta look the part. Other than that, I’m very into athleisure these days so you can’t go wrong there. And then Olaf asked if my husband had any good recipes for bananas and rice 😂 . I checked with David and he doesn’t — but he’s got a website with dozens of amazing recipes called TheOnlyFood.com. Check it out. I’d recommend starting with his cast iron chicken parm, his Caesar dressing and his non-fried wings. Telling ya — I like this lifestyle stuff as much as the politics, folks.
• I’ve been playing around with a timely marketing gimmick for Copal lately. Copal — a reposado that goes great with ICE. What do you ya think? Don’t worry — doesn’t mean I’m going to ditch the “official tequila of free speech” tagline. Reminder — you can pick up a bottle or three here. If you buy three, we’ll ship them for free.
