šŸ’¬ Hostages freed, The View goes full MAHA? And talking with Eric Trump

The Rubin Recap, Issue 31 ...

Big week as Trump gets hostages freed, signs peace deal. And The View is giving me a headache from thousands of miles away

Remember that old Apple commercial/slogan, ā€œThink Differentā€? That’s what Trump has done with his handling of the Middle East. He approached the war differently than any other U.S. president has approached conflict in the Middle East, and it seems to be paying off — never mind what Democrats and many in the mainstream media will have you believe.

The hostages were freed this week, and that’s resulted in the best chance for lasting peace in the region ever. 100% because of Donald Trump.

And this is not a new idea. Trump’s been talking about approaching foreign and domestic policy differently for more than 40 years. Just look at him in this clip from 60 Minutes back in the mid-’80s. And then think about that clip every time you hear a Democrat or mainstream media pundit tell you he’s a chaos president who breaks with norms. If getting peace in the Middle East is breaking with a norm, I’m fine with him breaking norms — and I bet you are too. For that matter, it seems like Bill Maher is A-OK with it, too. Here’s what he said on his show about Trump’s successes.

Couple of other quick things, then I gotta go because by the time this hits your inbox I’ll be onstage — or maybe getting ready to go onstage — or maybe off stage because I’ve finished. It’s a crazy time difference here in Australia.

Obama showed up on Marc Maron’s podcast and unleashed a blizzard of bitterness toward Trump. He sat there, legs crossed, arms folded, and slammed Trump for doing things differently than he did. Doesn’t like the change Trump is bringing about. In a tweet about the Middle East peace deal, Obama couldn’t bring himself to mention Trump by name or give him any credit. This guy used to constantly talk about ā€œhope and changeā€ but the one actually bringing hope and change is Trump. Jealous much, Obama?

You know Cheryl Hines from Curb Your Enthusiasm, where she plays Larry David’s wife. In real life she’s married to RFK Jr. , and God bless her, because she went into that toxic hornet’s nest on ABC known as The View this week and was subjected to some of the rudest behavior you’ll ever see.

Cheryl is promoting her new book, but the co-hosts jumped all over her, making accusations about her husband’s qualifications to be Secretary of Health and Human Services. They interrupted her repeatedly. The caddiness and obnoxiousness were off the charts. I’m thousands of miles away, and yes, the ladies of The View are still giving me a headache.

To Cheryl’s credit, she kept her composure and called out how Bobby Kennedy spoke out about misinformation that was spread about the Covid vaccine, and pointed out his decades-long track record of caring about people’s health. Cheryl Hines is such an interesting person, with a remarkable Hollywood career. It’s crazy that the larping hosts of The View couldn’t ask her anything related to that or her new book. The bias kicked into overdrive when Cheryl brought up that it was RFK Jr who is getting arsenic and lead out of baby formula — and Joy Behar’s ridiculous response was ā€œtwo wrongs don’t make a right.ā€

Trump is doing MAGA. RFK Jr is doing MAHA. And the ladies of The View? What’s interesting is, as it turns out, they are doing a version of MAHA too — Make America Hysterical Again … because the insanity there is just next level. In that sense, they’ve gone full MAHA. And that’s why I’m here, folks — to provide the sane views in a crazy world.

More shows next week, possibly from a hotel room or somewhere else in Australia. We’ll do a show in a kangaroo’s pouch if we have to. Oh, and scroll down — I picked out a few comments from newsletter readers to highlight below. Some smart reactions from readers Deb, Terry and Carmen. Plus my sit-down interview with Eric Trump.

SIT-DOWN INTERVIEW OF THE WEEK: The one and only Eric Trump

It’s always a pleasure to speak with a great Florida man, and even more of a pleasure when that Florida man is Eric Trump. Had a conversation with him that covered everything, including the questions Eric still has about the assassination attempt on his father in Butler, PA, last year. We also talked about his new book, Under Siege, which led to the biggest blunder of my professional career — something Eric was quick to correct me on. I must’ve already been on Australia time, people. šŸ˜…

Trump didn’t win the Nobel, but he did win The Rubin Report power rankings — by a lot

Since the Nobel people snubbed Trump for the peace prize last week, I put him in our weekly Top Trump Peeps poll that tracks the power rankings of everyone in the Trump administration. And will you look at what happened? Forget that Nobel Peace Prize, Mr. President. You just won The Rubin Report’s Top Trump Peeps poll. Way bigger.

As a matter of fact, a bunch of you who voted for Trump weighed in and I wanted to highlight three of the comments I got, because they really strike the right point. So, Deb, Terry and Carmen — well said.

Back to just Trump administration people in the poll for next week. Get your vote for next week’s ranking in ā¬‡ļø
