š¬ Hostages freed, The View goes full MAHA? And talking with Eric Trump
The Rubin Recap, Issue 31 ...
In partnership with
Big week as Trump gets hostages freed, signs peace deal. And The View is giving me a headache from thousands of miles away
Remember that old Apple commercial/slogan, āThink Differentā? Thatās what Trump has done with his handling of the Middle East. He approached the war differently than any other U.S. president has approached conflict in the Middle East, and it seems to be paying off ā never mind what Democrats and many in the mainstream media will have you believe.
The hostages were freed this week, and thatās resulted in the best chance for lasting peace in the region ever. 100% because of Donald Trump.
And this is not a new idea. Trumpās been talking about approaching foreign and domestic policy differently for more than 40 years. Just look at him in this clip from 60 Minutes back in the mid-ā80s. And then think about that clip every time you hear a Democrat or mainstream media pundit tell you heās a chaos president who breaks with norms. If getting peace in the Middle East is breaking with a norm, Iām fine with him breaking norms ā and I bet you are too. For that matter, it seems like Bill Maher is A-OK with it, too. Hereās what he said on his show about Trumpās successes.
Couple of other quick things, then I gotta go because by the time this hits your inbox Iāll be onstage ā or maybe getting ready to go onstage ā or maybe off stage because Iāve finished. Itās a crazy time difference here in Australia.
Obama showed up on Marc Maronās podcast and unleashed a blizzard of bitterness toward Trump. He sat there, legs crossed, arms folded, and slammed Trump for doing things differently than he did. Doesnāt like the change Trump is bringing about. In a tweet about the Middle East peace deal, Obama couldnāt bring himself to mention Trump by name or give him any credit. This guy used to constantly talk about āhope and changeā but the one actually bringing hope and change is Trump. Jealous much, Obama?
You know Cheryl Hines from Curb Your Enthusiasm, where she plays Larry Davidās wife. In real life sheās married to RFK Jr. , and God bless her, because she went into that toxic hornetās nest on ABC known as The View this week and was subjected to some of the rudest behavior youāll ever see.
Cheryl is promoting her new book, but the co-hosts jumped all over her, making accusations about her husbandās qualifications to be Secretary of Health and Human Services. They interrupted her repeatedly. The caddiness and obnoxiousness were off the charts. Iām thousands of miles away, and yes, the ladies of The View are still giving me a headache.
To Cherylās credit, she kept her composure and called out how Bobby Kennedy spoke out about misinformation that was spread about the Covid vaccine, and pointed out his decades-long track record of caring about peopleās health. Cheryl Hines is such an interesting person, with a remarkable Hollywood career. Itās crazy that the larping hosts of The View couldnāt ask her anything related to that or her new book. The bias kicked into overdrive when Cheryl brought up that it was RFK Jr who is getting arsenic and lead out of baby formula ā and Joy Beharās ridiculous response was ātwo wrongs donāt make a right.ā
Trump is doing MAGA. RFK Jr is doing MAHA. And the ladies of The View? Whatās interesting is, as it turns out, they are doing a version of MAHA too ā Make America Hysterical Again ⦠because the insanity there is just next level. In that sense, theyāve gone full MAHA. And thatās why Iām here, folks ā to provide the sane views in a crazy world.
More shows next week, possibly from a hotel room or somewhere else in Australia. Weāll do a show in a kangarooās pouch if we have to. Oh, and scroll down ā I picked out a few comments from newsletter readers to highlight below. Some smart reactions from readers Deb, Terry and Carmen. Plus my sit-down interview with Eric Trump.

SIT-DOWN INTERVIEW OF THE WEEK: The one and only Eric Trump
Itās always a pleasure to speak with a great Florida man, and even more of a pleasure when that Florida man is Eric Trump. Had a conversation with him that covered everything, including the questions Eric still has about the assassination attempt on his father in Butler, PA, last year. We also talked about his new book, Under Siege, which led to the biggest blunder of my professional career ā something Eric was quick to correct me on. I mustāve already been on Australia time, people. š
Trump didnāt win the Nobel, but he did win The Rubin Report power rankings ā by a lot

Since the Nobel people snubbed Trump for the peace prize last week, I put him in our weekly Top Trump Peeps poll that tracks the power rankings of everyone in the Trump administration. And will you look at what happened? Forget that Nobel Peace Prize, Mr. President. You just won The Rubin Reportās Top Trump Peeps poll. Way bigger.
As a matter of fact, a bunch of you who voted for Trump weighed in and I wanted to highlight three of the comments I got, because they really strike the right point. So, Deb, Terry and Carmen ā well said.

Back to just Trump administration people in the poll for next week. Get your vote for next weekās ranking in ā¬ļø

Tweet of the week
Ate kangaroo for the first time in Melbourne last night. Feel slightly guilty (?) but it was pretty, pretty good!
