šŸ’¬ How I would design the Greenland Golden Dome, Don Lemon dodges charges and lots of love for Rubio

The Rubin Recap, Issue 44 ...

One year into Trump’s second term, we’re making America great again.

We hit the one-year mark, people. Trump is a year into his second term and he was in Davos at the World Economic Forum this week shaking up the world order as he likes to do. The speech he gave on Wednesday was pure gold. Calling out Europe for unchecked mass migration. Laying out his case for why NATO is nothing without the U.S. — and why the U.S. needs Greenland. Sticking it to the globalists and their twisted worldview.

And speaking of gold, Trump talked about creating a Golden Dome over Greenland to protect America from attacks that might come from China or Russia. His hair, by the way, looks like a Golden Dome. Really, that's what they should design the Golden Dome to look like. It should just be a giant Donald Trump-esque wispy replica of the president’s hair. 🤣

In all seriousness, Trump is building on two ideas here. Reagan’s Star Wars plan from the ā€˜80s, which the technology was not ready for at the time, and the Iron Dome, which Israel and the U.S. have collaborated on for the last 20 years or so.

And Trump was just on point the entire time there. Even after Air Force One had mechanical issues and Trump had to return to D.C., get on another plane, a delay that made him arrive late. I’ll never understand all these people who try to say Trump is too old to be president. The guy’s energy is unparalleled, particularly on these overseas trips. Just look at what the guy got done in a couple of days there.

He rolled out his new Board of Peace. Nearly two dozen nations, especially from the Middle East, Asia, and parts of South America, have accepted invitations, while major European allies like the U.K., France, and Sweden have been hesitant or declined so far. Trump has described the board as potentially something that could rival or supplement the UN with global peace efforts. The UN, of course, is one of the most ineffectual, incompetent groups ever assembled in world history.

Trump even made a little time in his Davos speech to zing Gavin Newsom. In case you missed it, Newsom was in Davos — no idea why the hell the governor of California needed to be at the World Economic Forum. Hope taxpayer money didn’t pay for him and his handlers to travel to Davos. Because what he did there was an absolute embarrassment — trashing Trump and other world leaders because he thinks they don’t stand up to Trump. He wasn’t just humiliating himself, he embarrassed America. It was so bad, even Obama administration officials couldn’t take the dinosaur metaphors and the America trashing, the knee pad stunt.

The interesting thing about that is that it’s a tell. Newsom is the one who needs the them, whether he consciously realizes that or not. The best part about the knee pads? He brought the extra-padded, heavy-duty kind. Because when you’re auditioning to be a Soros bitch, you know you’re going to be spending a lot of time on your knees.

And this guy wants to be president!

In other news about bad Americans, Don Lemon dodged federal charges for joining anti-ICE protesters and storming a church in Minnesota — in the middle of Sunday services. The disgraced former CNN host/clown was facing possible charges under, of all things, the KKK Act for his role in disrupting Sunday worship along with a mob of mentally ill protesters, and basically terrorizing a bunch of Christians who were praying.

After it was clear he might be in trouble, Lemon he said he was doing ā€œreconnaissanceā€ and ā€œjournalismā€ and insisted that he’s protected by the First Amendment. An activist Minnesota judge on Thursday agreed and blocked Pam Bondi from pressing charges against Lemon.

Now, maybe the First Amendment provides some protection for Lemon, although I would argue he’s not a journalist — he’s an activist. ā€œJournalistsā€ love to cite the First Amendment, but have you noticed how they always skip over the first part of the First Amendment that precedes the freedom of speech part? The first part contains language that protects Americans from having their rights to the free exercise of religion infringed upon.

Ladies and gentleman, what was Don Lemon doing in that video? He was infringing upon people trying to freely exercise their religion. It’s literally on video.

But let’s leave aside the legal technicalities for a minute. If three guys in MAGA hats walked into a mosque and had done that -- or forget a mosque. If guys in MAGA hats had prayed too loudly in a Starbucks, Abby Philip would’ve spent an entire week on CNN calling it domestic terrorism. And the hacks on The View would’ve devoted multiple segments to it being an attack on brown people. Btw, the MAGA hat looks good on me, doesn't it? Scroll back up and give that another look.

Christians are most tolerant people on earth. It's crazy if you think about it. Don Lemon storming a church is peak 2026 liberalism -- attacking the one institution that’s been more forgiving of personal flaws than his former employer ever was. And by flaws, I'm going all the way back to his retarded Blizzardmobile stunt in 2015.

Now, keep in mind why this is all happening in Minnesota in the first place. It’s because voters voted for Donald Trump to clean up the illegal immigration problem in this country, and he’s following through on that mandate. And the top government officials in Minnesota are urging residents there to obstruct the government from enforcing the law. Jacob Frey, the Minneapolis mayor, admitted that he is blocking ICE from arresting illegal immigrants held in Minneapolis' jails. This all may seem obvious to me and to you. But this concept is difficult for the crazy leftists to comprehend.

That’s why this week on the show, I broke it down in very simple terms that anyone can understand. And I did it using an Irish accent. So, if you’ve always wanted to hear Dave Rubin speaking in an Irish accent, click here to watch this clip. And I think you’ll agree with the point I was making.

An interview with DEI buster Robby Starbuck

You may know him as the guy on X who takes down big companies for their insane DEI policies. Yes, it’s Robby Starbuck and he has a remarkable record of exposing woke DEI policies in corporate America and getting companies to change them. But did you know Starbuck comes from a family who fled Cuba and escaped communism to make a better life in America? He’s got a fascinating story and he really cuts to the chase about how insidious DEI is in our culture. Great conversation ā¬‡ļø

Man, you guys are loving Marco Rubio

We’ve been polling you guys on the Trump admin power rankings since back in the summer, and the week-to-week results were all over the place. JD Vance was quite often the Top Trump Peep, or close to it. But lately, Marco Rubio has been dominating. I think Rubin Recap reader harrylmurray made a good point about why Rubio has so much appeal one year into Trump’s second term.

You guys are a great sample of the American electorate, and I wonder if these poll results have any greater meaning for 2028. JD has long been considered the heir apparent to Trump by many, since he’s the veep. I can’t help but wonder if Rubio is now in pole position for the 2028 GOP domination — especially given that JD and Usha have another baby on the way. And Rubio showed in Davos that he’s also not afraid to stick it to the globalists. Something to keep an eye on. Reply with a comment if you want to weigh in.

This week, I want to know what you think of Trump’s first year of his second term. I think America is back in a big way. What say you? Give Trump’s first year a rating, elaborate with your thoughts if necessary. You know the drill.

šŸ“Š How do you think Trump did in the first year of his second term?

Rate his first year on a scale of 1-5. Feel free to elaborate with a comment.

• Had a great talk with Dr. Josef Witt-Doerring about the state of mental health in America and some of the factors that are causing a mental health decline for so many in this country. One thing I thought was interesting that the doctor pointed out is how the cannibas being smoked or vaped today is way, way more dangerous now than it’s been in the past. I didn’t realize it, but today’s high-potency cannabis and vape pens are neurotoxic and linked to rising cases of psychosis and schizophrenia.

• In Thursday’s community Q&A, Rubin Report viewer Joe asked me to predict which two NFL teams will advance to the Super Bowl. I guess he wasn’t happy that my predictions for 2026 didn’t include a Super Bowl winner. As I said on the show, I missed football this year. The whole season. Didn’t see any of it. So, I deferred to my director Connor for the prediction. All I ask is that if Connor’s wrong, don’t do to him what they did to this 4-year-old girl who’s been making NFL predictions and got a few wrong.
