💬 Jimmy Kimmel's wife talks openly about suffering from TDS
The Rubin Recap, Issue 35 ...
Surviving the shutdown, blowing up narcoterrorist drug boats and Jimmy Kimmel’s wife admits she has TDS
We did it, people! We survived the great government shutdown of 2025. All 43 days of it. A new record! And for those of you here in Florida, we survived the cold snap and the falling iguanas. 😅
I climbed out of my official shutdown bunker aka, underneath my desk, on Thursday to see that the country made it. I immediately had my team crunch the numbers, and we confirmed that zero or very close to zero people starved to death … not that any Democrats were donating money or food to any of the supposedly starving people across the country. Yes, there were some flight delays, which were a nuisance, but by and large the nation was unchanged -- despite the Democrats screaming and yelling that the sky was falling for the last six weeks.
Federal workers will be getting their back pay, SNAP benefits have been restored. If nothing else, the Schumer shutdown put a spotlight on how many people -- are they all Americans, or are some recipients illegals? -- are receiving SNAP benefits. More than 42 million! Maybe it's time to take a closer look at that program, and how people are using the food stamps. I'd like to see a more MAHA-influenced approach to how food stamps are used.
But that's beside the point. The point is: the Democrats lost, after dragging the country through an unnecessary shutdown, for what? To pay for health coverage for illegals.
And not all Democrats, mind you. John Fetterman was one of eight senators who voted with Republicans to end the shutdown. He was promptly shamed by Sunny Hostin on The View for doing so. Don't be surprised if they try this stunt again. In January, we very likely will have a chance to get back in your shutdown bunker and go for another record.
One thing that wasn't affected by the shutdown was the newly-named Operation Southern Spear in which the military has been blowing up narcoterrorist drug boats -- and then posting video of the boats being blown to smithereens on social media. It's an obvious win, but of course, there are some who are pushing back. Like the U.K., our close ally, which is now refusing to share intelligence with the U.S. because they're worried we might use that info to blow up more drug boats.
So much for that "special relationship." But I want you to watch the response to this from Marco Rubio, who, dare I say, is looking like a very formidable presidential candidate. He calls out the naked hypocrisy and absurdity of the U.K. cutting off intel sharing.
Now, I want you to stop reading for a few seconds and give a slow golf clap to Rubio. Right now -- go ahead, I'll wait. (Record a few seconds of video of yourself applauding Rubio and reply to this email with it, and maybe I’ll use it on the show.)
That's right, Rubio deserves the applause. We don't want mountains of fentanyl being brought into the U.S. on the Love Boat. And if we have to blow up some drug-running vessels and kill a few dozen narcoterrorists to defend the country, so be it. This is what I voted for. And, speaking of voting, I'm back to running the top Trump peeps poll this week, so maybe Rubio's remarks will impact how you vote. Scroll down.👇
I want you to check out our sponsor this week, too. They’re getting an early start on Black Friday (at least for the readers of this newsletter), and the products are great. They have these energizing teas that are a real game-changer. Frankly, someone should’ve given these teas to Andrew Cuomatose — maybe he would’ve had a little more energy during his mayoral campaign against Moron Zamboni. Check that out, and then more on Jimmy Kimmel’s wife confessing she has TDS, and a rare apology from someone in the media — along with an absolute legend in this week’s sit-down interview.

You hear the term Trump Derangement Syndrome thrown around all the time. TDS. And TDS can come in many forms, but it's kind of rare to see someone high-profile talking candidly about experiencing it. That's what happened when Jimmy Kimmel and his wife went on a podcast last week. His wife explained how she's cut off relationships with people in her own family because they voted for Trump. Aunts, uncles, cousins. Respect to those family members, btw, for voting their conscience despite Kimmel devoting the last decade of his career to spreading Trump hatred and hatred of people who voted for Trump. Probably took a certain amount of courage for those family members to vote for Trump and be open about it.
I have to give her credit, though, because she did express some level of self-awareness that she's suffering from TDS. At the end of the clip, she confesses she's "angry all the time" and admits, "I wish I could like deprogram myself in some way." At least she recognizes she is the problem. Which is not what you typically hear from the crazed leftists, who usually think they need to deprogram you.
I’ve told you many times by now that I’m trying to focus on some positive things that happen, to prove that they exist. There was a great and rare example of humility this week from Piers Morgan when he had tennis great Novak Djokovic on his show.
Novak Djokovic, you may recall, faced major backlash during the pandemic for not getting vaccinated, and was banned from playing in the Australian Open in 2022 and deported from the country — because he was unvaccinated. And at the time, Piers Morgan celebrated that outcome, calling Djokovic a “rule cheat, immigration form liar & anti-vaxxer icon” in a tweet.
Well, this week, Piers apologized to Djokovic. And he did it like a man, right to his face. Djokovic, of course, gracefully accepted the apology. It’s a rare moment of humility that we need more of. Watch it here. And heads up — I interviewed Piers in studio this week, and that interview is coming out on Saturday.
SIT-DOWN INTERVIEW OF THE WEEK: Deepak Chopra says 95% of diseases are now preventable
It was nice to take a break from the politics grind for a hot minute to welcome legendary doctor and author Deepak Chopra to the show for what was a great discussion on health and wellness, how just 5% of all disease is the result of genetic mutation and 95% of diseases are preventable. Deepak also told me why we may be closer than many people think to extending our lifespan to 120 years — and why he rejects the spiritual “guru” label. Fascinating interview, don’t miss it.
Mamdani edges Schumer and Newsom as America’s worst Democrat

That’s two in a row for Moron Zamboni, after he tied for the top spot in last week’s poll. This week, he barely outpaced Schumer and Newsom to claim the dubious title. Reader 1ovflores made a good point about Gavin Newsom as it looks more and more like he’ll be running for president in 2028 — although, I tend to view Newsom as more of a lizard-man and 1ovflores sees him as a snake. These are minor details, folks.

This week, we’re back to the Trump administration power rankings. Get your vote in ⬇️

• In this week’s community Q&A, Joe asked, “When is it appropriate to put up a Christmas tree?” He added that he’s in the after-Thanksgiving camp. I tend to agree that you should wait until after Thanksgiving to put the tree up, but there’s a little more nuance to it than that. If you want my full explanation, watch here. You don’t, however, need to wait that long to start Christmas shopping. Christmas is 40 days away … 🎄
