💬 Judge catches Democrats CHEATING in Virginia referendum

The Rubin Recap, Issue 57 ...

BREAKING: Democrats were caught trying to cheat again this week. 😅

Obviously, even if I was able to break news in this newsletter, Democrats trying to cheat can’t possibly be breaking news at this point. It would be the same as me saying, BREAKING: Democrats are breathing.

A Virginia judge this week blocked the results of the referendum vote to redraw the state’s congressional lines, which barely passed by three points. And the case is expected to go in front of the state Supreme Court possibly as early as next week. The result of the referendum flips the state from a nearly even split — which still favors Democrats — to almost shutting Virginia Republicans out of having any representation at all in the U.S. House of Representatives.

The Virginia congressional map was possibly the fairest in the nation, with 6 of the state’s seat in the House going to Democrats and the other 5 going to Republicans. But if the results of Tuesday’s referendum are allowed to stand, Democrats will have 10 seats in the House. And Republicans? They’ll just have to be satisfied with their one measly seat, Democrats like Temu Obama have said. One seat in the House — that’s not representation. It’s a participation trophy.

Now, you might be thinking: “But, Dave, Republicans have done redistricting before — why is this cheating?” Allow me to explain. A numbered list might be helpful.

  1. Let’s start with the governor, Abigail Spanberger. She specifically said while campaigning, just weeks before the election last year, “I have no plans to redistrict Virginia.” Then, after being elected, she made redistricting one of the top initiatives of her agenda so she could squeeze it in before the midterms later this year. It’s no wonder her approval rating is lower than any Virginia governor at this stage of a first term since 1993.

  2. How about the language on the referendum ballot? On the ballot put in front of Virginia voters, the measure was described as “a vote to restore fairness in the upcoming elections.” It was also billed as a “temporary” measure. You’d think with language like that, Trump must’ve won Virginia in a landslide. As it turned out, Harris won Virginia in 2024 with 51% of the vote to Trump’s 46%. In fact, the biased wording of the referendum was one of the reasons the judge — Jack Hurley, an American hero 🇺🇸 — shot the result down in his ruling.

  3. The maps were already fair. As Scott Jennings put it, Virginia’s congressional maps were the fairest in the nation. It was 6-5. Now look at what will happen to the map if the result is allowed to stand, and compare that to the actual makeup of the state’s voters.

I know! You need a quick breather. So do I, frankly. So pause for a moment and give our sponsor today a look. If the midterms go to the Dems in November, you’re gonna want to have some gold, believe me. Check out Patriot Gold — then more below on why I agree with Obama, the Democrat who cheered on Iran this week, Kamala Harris code-switching again, and last week’s poll results.

If you think gold and silver have peaked, your retirement may be in more danger than you realize. JP Morgan has floated $8,500 gold if demand holds. BMO Bank sees a path to $8,650 gold and $220 silver by 2027! Expectations of the Fed's lower-rate plans and a weaker dollar environment can skyrocket assets like Gold, which is exactly the direction President Trump has pushed for. I said above that I agree with Barack Hussein Obama. It’s true. I do. However, I don’t agree with 2026 Barack Obama, who was out there pushing hard for redistricting in Virginia. The Obama I agree with is 2015 Obama, who had this to say about redistricting:

"The process of political gerrymandering, I think, is damaging to Congress. I don't think the insiders should draw the lines and decide who their voters are. And Democrats and Republicans do this, and it's great for incumbents, but it means over time that people aren't competing for the center because they know that if they win a Democratic primary, Republican primary, they've won. So ... it pushes parties away from compromise."

Makes you wonder what changed with Obama. I have a feeling it’s a little disease called TDS.

Trump extended the ceasefire this week as he continues to try to pressure Iran into making a deal to end the war. And speaking of TDS, one Senate Democrat is so anti-Trump, he’ll jump on any headline that might be negative for the U.S. Chris Murphy of Connecticut saw someone post on X that 26 Iranian vessels had bypassed the U.S. blockade. Leaving aside that the post was probably Iranian propaganda and not even true, Murphy responded to the post saying, “awesome.” I’m turning 50 in a couple months and am old enough to remember when senators even when they disagreed with their political opponents still rooted for America. SMH at Murphy.

Kamala Harris has been getting out there and speaking publicly more and more lately, which means three things: she’s seriously considering another White House run, word salad bonanzas and plenty of code-switching. Kamala was speaking at an event hosted by The Root, so she turned on her heavy urban voice and mixed up an all-timer of a word salad — whoa boy! This clip is required viewing if you haven’t seen it. America dodged a bullet in 2024, people.

East Coast vs. West Coast when it comes to America’s worst Democrat

It’s really saying something when AOC comes in dead last in a poll of the worst Democrats in America. That’s just what happened with last week’s poll. The spot came down to a horserace been East Coast and West Coast rivals. In the end, Gavin Newsom, who spent $1.5 million on his own book to inflate sales, edged Moron Zamboni.

I thought a reader named Timothy made an interesting observation about that East Coast-West coast phenomenon. And there are so many bad Democrats to choose from, I just can’t fir them all in my polls, which allow a maximum of ten. Therefore, I give a gold star to astokes31 for excellent use of the right in vote on last week’s poll.

Trump lost another Cabinet member this week. Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer left after a little more than a year in the job, which brings us back to our Top Trump Peeps poll. Remember, two weeks ago, it ended in a three-way tie. Who ya got this week? ⬇️

📊 In your mind, who is the top performing member of the Trump team right now?
