What a remarkable State of the Union address President Trump delivered on Tuesday night. Not only was the man on-point and disciplined, but the material was 💯. The themes he discussed, the focus on American heroes of all types, pointing out that the new American golden age is under way.
His hair even looked fluffier and more golden than usual. I know the many has an affinity for gold, and I know gold prices — and silver prices - have been soaring of late. But you should check out our sponsor today, because they say gold prices have a long way to go till they reach a ceiling. And buying gold is not as simple as purchasing other investments.
The entire speech was pure gold. Even the Team USA hockey players were there wearing Olympic gold medals!
But two other moments also stood out to me as pure gold.
The first was Trump’s bi-partisan appeal to all the lawmakers in the chamber to acknowledge and affirm what voters sent them to Washington, D.C., to do.
"I'm inviting every legislator to join with my administration in reaffirming a fundamental principle. If you agree with this statement, then stand up and show your support. The first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens -- not illegal aliens," Trump said.
Republicans stood and applauded. And the Democrats remained seated and silent. And Trump, absolute maestro that he is, milked it for almost two minutes, gesturing to the Democrats’ side of the room — putting on full display for all Americans to see precisely where Democrats priorities really are.
Can you recall any other president operating with such incredible efficiency? Not only was he making a point, he was also making countless campaign ads for the 2026 mid-terms. I’ve already seen a couple good ones on social media. Pure gold. And don’t just take it from me -- take it from this swing voter who was asked about the moment on CNN.
With all this talk of gold, you may want to pick up some coins or a bar — so be sure to visit Patriot Gold before you do. See below for more. After that, the photo that sums up the modern Democrat Party, results of our Presidents Week poll and more.
If you think gold and silver have peaked, your retirement may be in more danger than you realize. JP Morgan has floated $8,500 gold if demand holds. BMO Bank sees a path to $8,650 gold and $220 silver by 2027! Expectations of the Fed's lower-rate plans and a weaker dollar environment can skyrocket assets like Gold, which is exactly the direction President Trump has pushed for. The second pure gold moment came when the TV cameras focused on Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib. They screamed and tried to interrupt — Trump spoke right over them.
Tlaib wore a pin that read 'F**k ICE’ one one side of her jacket, and another that read “Release the ———- files" on the other side. Which itself is unhinged given that Joe Biden had four years to release the Epstein files, and never did a thing with them, and Trump has been the one to make them public.
The rest of the behavior from Ilhan Omar and Tlaib was all-out unhinged. If screaming at Donald Trump was an Olympic sport, these two would have gold medals and a lifetime supply of participation trophies. 😂

The photo that perfectly sums up the Democrat party in 2026.
In all seriousness though, if the Democrat Party had any sense of moral clarity, these two would at least be formally censured. Not only for their behavior at the State of the Union, but for their approval of and support of groups affiliated with terrorism. As well as their general lack of respect for the United States of America and its values.
According to one reporter who was in the room, Tlaib heckled Trump for about 80% of the speech. Total absurdity — and the internet came up with an absurd interpretation of what was those two were up to, which I think is a rather accurate version of who these two actually are.
Despite that display on Tuesday, many in the mainstream media will tell you that it's the Republicans or conservatives who lack decorum. Scroll up and look at that photo again. When Trump said in his address, “These people are crazy,” he wasn’t exaggerating. This is the modern Democrat party in one photo.
Now that tees us up nicely for this week's poll, people!
🇺🇸 I cannot tell a lie — George Washington wins top president poll

America’s first president is the favorite president of Rubin Recap readers. George Washington won last week’s President's Week poll by a mile, cleaning up with 65% of the vote. Reagan came in a distant second. Many of you included comments along with your vote and a great number of those comments were similar to the remarks by reader robertkier, who I think succinctly summed up what many others were saying also.

Given the news cycle this week, it's high time to take everyone’s temperature on who the worst Democrat is right now. I haven't polled you on this since December, and at the time, Ilhan Omar outpaced Gavin Newsom for the win. Who's the worst one right now? You may notice I took Elizabeth Warren out of the poll this time. Hey, she stood and applauded Trump once or twice during the SOTU. Gold star for Pocohontas! Get your vote in ⬇️
📊 In your mind, who is the worst member of the Democrat party right now?Choose one name from the list below -- and feel free to leave a comment and elaborate, or mention the name of someone not listed here. |
• I hear you, folks. Many of you have mentioned in the YouTube comments that you are enjoying the Bernie Sanders impression I sometimes do -- and that you want more of it. The fact is, I can do it only about once per week. Here’s the one I did on Monday’s show that prompted all of the comments, and here's my explanation on why I have to keep it a limited edition impression.
• Gavin Newsom was at it again this week, insisting people aren’t smart enough to print out ID in order to register to vote if the SAVE Act were to be passed and signed into law. Folks, I’m on week three of trying to give away this printer — trying to do my part to help ease Gavin’s concerns. And still no takers. Wonder why.
• After watching Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib at the SOTU, it dawned on me that those two might need a smooth drink to help them unwind, release all that frustration pent up inside. Might I suggest a nice glass of Copal. I can't help but wonder if it would cure their TDS. Anyway, you know Copal has won a couple of awards at this point because it truly is the smoothest, best-tasting reposado out there. Plus, it’s the official tequila of free speech. You can place an order here. And if you buy three, we’ll ship them for free.
