šŸ’¬ The Rubin Recap: The Sunday return to normalcy

Why you should mark June 15 on your calendar

Biden tapes to be released June 15 — unless activist judge interferes

One of the most abnormal aspects of Biden’s single term as president is the way everyone acted like everything was just fine with his mental acuity (and when I say everyone, I mean the Democrats and their friends in the mainstream media). ā€œNothing to see here,ā€ they all said — until everything burst into the open during the debate in late June 2024, and Biden’s failing mental capacity couldn’t be spun away or hidden anymore, although they still tried.

I think even Trump was surprised by the extent of Biden’s mental decline when about 10 minutes in he gave a rambling response, melted down and then declared, ā€œWe finally beat Medicare.ā€ šŸ¤Æ

It was a jaw-dropping moment, and, for much of America, it was the first they were seeing of Biden’s decline because every other short-circuit and meltdown that had been caught on camera had been dismissed as a ā€œcheapfakeā€ by White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and everyone in the mainstream media.

The truth is Biden’s decline had started almost a decade earlier, and the former president sued the Justice Department this week to block the evidence from being made public.

Of course.

The Justice Department has said that on June 15 it plans to release about 70 hours of interviews along with transcripts of interviews Biden gave to his ghostwriter in 2016 and 2017, long before Biden decided to run in 2020. Mark your calendar for that day, because, unless another activist judge interferes, what comes out on June 15 will, as Trump said, be interesting reading for people.

There is speculation that the tapes will contain plenty of evidence that Biden’s mental decline had started in earnest a decade ago. Eight years before his epic meltdown on the debate stage.

Interestingly, during the very week Biden sued to prevent the release of the audio, Jill Biden began her book tour and said in an interview that when she watched her husband melting down in the debate, she thought he was ā€œhaving a stroke.ā€

She added that she was ā€œfrightenedā€ by her husband’s debate performance. Lady, the whole country was frightened by it — even Clyde, my dog, was hiding under the couch as we watched the train wreck unfold. šŸ˜‚

Interesting, because if you can remember all the way back — almost two years ago now — to the moments after the debate, what did she do? She got up on the stage, grabbed a mic, and said, "Joe, you did such a great job. You answered every question. You knew all the facts!" Which pretty much undermines what she is now saying about thinking Biden was having a stroke — because if she really thought that, she would’ve behaved differently in the moment. People will focus on that for obvious reasons, and rightly so.

But it was what she said next that was really telling. She then turned to the crowd and asked, ā€œAnd what did Trump do? He lied!ā€ she screeched, answering her own question. Absolute major-league, world-class projection in that moment. It wasn’t Trump who was lying — it was Joe Biden, Jill Biden, everyone around them, almost everyone in the mainstream media who were lying. For years. Again, I know it’s been a while so if you need a refresher, watch this compilation.

Part of getting things back to normal in this country involves understanding how we managed to get so far from normal in the first place. Hopefully, we will take another step in that direction on June 15.

An emotional interview with PragerU founder Dennis Prager

This was a truly moving experience, talking to Dennis after the absolute horrible ordeal he’s been through over the last 18 months. I’ve only mentioned it sparingly on the show up until now as he’s fought his way through it. Dennis opened up about his devastating spinal cord injury that left him a quadriplegic more than a year-and-a-half ago. He talked candidly about how it happened, his recovery journey, breathing therapy, and the experimental treatments he’s undergone, and how he’s able to speak. He also touched on how friends and family have reacted to his plight as well as his unwavering faith in God despite the suffering he’s endured. You know how much I value Dennis not only as a conservative thinker but as a friend. This is one of the most emotional conversations I’ve had in a while, on or off camera.

Until next week … — Dave
