💬 The truth about Thanksgiving, and the biggest story the mainstream media won't cover

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you, and the one story I want you to keep an eye on —even if the MSM doesn’t want to cover it

First off, on this Thanksgiving weekend, I want to say thank you for subscribing to this newsletter and thank you for watching The Rubin Report. And I hope you’re taking some time to enjoy the holiday weekend with friends and family — the most important things in life.

I don’t want to deluge you with politics over this weekend, but I’ve got some good stuff to make you aware of. Scroll down for my sit-down interview of the week with none other than Cheryl Hines. Plus, we’ve got the results of our JD vs. Marco 2028 presidential ticket poll.

First, though, a quick Thanksgiving message on why we pause at this time of year to give thanks. We have a Republican to thank for making Thanksgiving a national holiday. Abraham Lincoln declared it a national holiday in 1863, in the middle of the Civil War. Watch:

In addition to pausing to give thanks this holiday weekend, I hope we’re all thinking about the two National Guard members who were shot just a few blocks from the White House on Wednesday. Twenty-year-old Specialist Sarah Beckstrom died Thursday night, and 24-year-old Andrew Wolfe is still fighting for his life as I write this.

I’ll have much more to say about this on Monday, but these two members of the military didn’t deserve this, and neither did their families. We’ve learned it was an Afghan national who ambushed the two troops, someone let into the country in 2021 under Biden’s deeply flawed policies. This is just one of the ways the autopen presidency is continuing to haunt the country. These sorts of problems are precisely what Trump has spent his first 10 months in office cleaning up, and despite what you may hear on social media, his support among Republicans has not wavered at all since January. The other thing it’s important to call out — and that you should be paying close attention to in the weeks and months ahead — is a major change that X rolled out in recent days. Elon Musk now has X showing the country of origin for every account on X, and that has revealed that many influential and politically incendiary accounts are based outside of the U.S. These accounts are notorious for posting politically divisive content that essentially manipulates Americans, and exploits divisions in American society. Check out this video that shows just some of the big ones that are based in other countries. Some of these accounts have hundreds of thousands or even millions of followers. This new feature is a game-changer.

This is one of the biggest media stories of the year. I cannot emphasize that enough. And did you notice there was almost zero coverage of it by the mainstream media?

Vance has big 2028 edge over Rubio, according to Rubin Recap readers

Well, my informal poll seems to concur with what the betting markets are saying about the 2028 Republican presidential ticket. Look at those results above. JD Vance came in with twice as many votes as Rubio in the poll I ran in last week’s newsletter. Very interesting. You know I read through all the comments you include with your votes, and I wanted to highlight three that I thought capture the moment we’re in, particularly the one about them running together. That would be a seemingly unbeatable ticket. Who would Democrats put up against a Vance-Rubio ticket? AOC and Jasmine Crockett? 🤣 🤣 🤣
